Bulgaria, Day-ahead price of electricity increased by 32% in 24 hours

The average price of electricity on the day-ahead market of the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange (IBEX) reached BGN 720.29 (€368.3) per MWh, excluding VAT, for delivery on Tuesday, September 20.

The price on IBEX on Monday was 279.2 euros per MWh, which means that the increase in just one day is 31.9%.

Total trading volume for delivery on Tuesday was 76,751 MWh.

The Bulgarian spot price for delivery on Wednesday and Thursday continued to rise, to EUR 382.1 per MWh and EUR 398.8 per MWh.

The price for peak load on Thursday (from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) is 405.1 euros per MWh, compared to 396.1 euros per MWh on Wednesday.
