OMV Petrom company estimates an increasing annual production, given that TPP Brazi is no longer required to supply electricity to the regulated market in 2020.
Gas-fired thermal power plant Brazi, operated by OMV Petrom, produced 1.12 TWh of electricity in the first quarter of the year, a slight increase of 3 % compared to the production in the first quarter of last year (1.08 TWh).
The statement from OMV Petrom said that, according to the data currently available from the system operator, the national electricity demand decreased by 3 % compared to the same quarter of 2019, while the national electricity production decreased by 4 %. Thus Romania was a net importer of electricity in Q1 2020, as well as in Q1 2019.
