Rezolv financing up to €561 million for 1.3 GW Dama Solar in Romania

Rezolv Energy has secured financing of up to €561 million for its 1.3 GW Dama Solar development in western Romania, enabling the project to move into construction ahead of planned commercial operation in the second half of 2028. The development is located in Arad county and is being advanced through West Power Investments. The solar site will occupy more than 1,000 hectares.

Dama Solar output and share of Romania’s solar generation

Dama Solar is expected to generate approximately 1,800 GWh annually. This output is described as equivalent to around 36% of Romania’s solar output in 2025. The project’s planned scale and generation profile are tied to its scheduled entry into commercial operation in the second half of 2028.

CfD contracts and corporate power purchase agreement

Revenue support for the project includes two contracts for difference awarded in Romania’s second CfD auction, covering 520 MW of capacity. These CfDs are intended to provide a contracted revenue base for the covered portion of capacity. In addition, a separate long-term corporate power purchase agreement is expected to provide further contracted income.

Largest financing package and next steps for contractors

The financing package is stated to be Rezolv’s largest to date, exceeding €291 million and €331 million arranged for the two phases of its Vifor wind project. It also exceeds €90 million for Bulgaria’s St. George solar plant. Engineering, procurement and construction contractors are expected to be announced shortly. With funding secured, focus shifts to construction execution toward the 2028 operating target, supported by the CfDs and corporate offtake agreement while delivery timing remains necessary for bringing planned output to market.
