Faria Renewables acquires 23.1 MW Greek wind farm

Greek developer Faria Renewables has completed the purchase of a 23.1 MW wind farm in Boeotia from EDP Renewables. The acquisition adds an operating renewable asset to Faria’s portfolio. It is the first of two wind projects included in an agreement announced earlier this year.

The second project has a capacity of 35 MW and is scheduled to enter operation in 2027. Together, the two wind farms amount to roughly 58 MW. Their estimated combined value is about €120 million.

Operating project and offtake arrangements

Alpha Bank financed the first transaction, but its individual purchase price was not disclosed. The 23.1 MW facility entered trial operation in July and comprises four Nordex N149 turbines. Annual electricity production is expected to reach around 75 GWh.

The project has a long-term offtake arrangement, with Metlen signing a 10-year power purchase agreement covering its output. Metlen will also manage the project’s participation in the wholesale electricity market. Faria’s Greek renewable development portfolio exceeds 2 GW and includes wind, solar and battery storage projects.
