Project overview near Kula
Serbian developer Equinox Power is planning an approximately 200 MW renewable energy complex near Kula, combining wind and solar generation with battery storage. The development would cover a planning area of nearly 1,758 hectares. The report describes the project as a combined wind-solar-storage site rather than separate facilities.
The wind, solar and battery elements are intended to operate together within the same planning footprint. Solar generation and a battery energy storage system would make up the remainder of the complex after the wind component. The report does not specify the individual capacities for the solar and storage parts.
Wind turbine specifications and site layout
The proposed wind component would include 10 turbines rated at 7.2 MW each, providing up to 72 MW. The machines could reach an overall height of 300 metres, with rotor diameters of around 182 metres. The report does not indicate any alternative turbine configuration.
About 525 hectares, or just under 30% of the planning area, would be allocated for energy infrastructure. Roughly 1,232 hectares would retain agricultural classification. The development is envisaged across multiple phases within the cadastral areas of Sivac and Crvenka.
Grid connection and spatial planning process
A dedicated 110 kV substation is planned to connect the generating units. An underground cable network would link the components within the project area. Kula’s municipal administration is coordinating preparation of the spatial planning documents.
The report does not disclose an investment budget, financing package or commissioning date for the complex. Progress toward construction would depend on completion of the planning process and on technical and commercial arrangements required to connect and operate the combined assets.
