Alerion Clean Power has begun commissioning a 51 MW solar power plant in Romania. The company said the project is part of its ongoing expansion of renewable energy assets in the country. Commissioning is underway as the plant moves toward full commercial operation.
Racari site details and expected generation
The facility is located in Racari, Dâmbovița County, and covers an area of approximately 85 hectares. It uses bifacial photovoltaic modules mounted on single-axis tracking systems. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate around 77 GWh of electricity annually.
Construction timeline and project investment
Sunnerg Renewable Service, part of the Sunnerg Group, constructed the project. Construction began in April 2024. The total investment for the solar plant is estimated at around €35 million.
Impact on Romania solar portfolio and EBITDA outlook
Following completion of the Racari plant, Alerion’s installed solar capacity in Romania exceeds 216 MW. The company expects the new facility to generate approximately €5.5 million in annual EBITDA once it reaches full commercial operation.
