R.Power, a Polish renewable energy developer, has secured project financing worth €41.6 million for the development of four solar power plants in Romania with a combined capacity of approximately 75 MW. The transaction supports a portfolio expansion in one of Southeast Europe’s fastest-growing renewable markets.
The financing package comprises €34.1 million in euros and an additional €7.5 million in local currency. ING Bank and UniCredit Bank arranged the funding jointly and participated on equal terms. The proceeds are intended to finance construction activities across all four photovoltaic projects.
Portfolio details and grid connection
The four projects include a 55 MW solar facility connected to the high-voltage grid. The financing is allocated for construction work spanning the entire portfolio of photovoltaic developments. This structure links the planned generation additions to grid-connected capacity within Romania’s power system.
All four solar plants are expected to become operational by 2027. The new capacity is scheduled to add renewable generation at a time when Romania is expanding utility-scale solar and hybrid energy infrastructure.
Broader pipeline, storage plans, and total funding
The projects are part of R.Power’s broader Romanian pipeline totaling around 2 GW. The pipeline includes operating assets, projects awarded under Contracts for Difference (CfD) schemes, and additional solar, hybrid, and battery storage developments. The portfolio combines secured revenues with merchant and development-stage assets.
Following this transaction, R.Power has secured approximately €250 million in project financing during 2026. Beyond solar development, the company is exploring battery energy storage integration, including potential installations at selected solar sites. It also maintains a separate pipeline of standalone storage projects targeting flexibility value in Romania’s evolving power market.
Overall, R.Power manages a renewable energy portfolio of around 10 GW across Poland and Romania. The company operates as one of the larger independent renewable developers active in Central and Southeast Europe.
