Romanian renewable developer Enexus plans to install 50 MWh of battery storage alongside two solar projects in Titu, Dâmbovița county. The move extends Enexus’s cooperation with LONGi beyond photovoltaic modules. The hybrid configuration will pair solar generation with storage capacity at the same sites.
Hybrid project scope in Titu
The two hybrid sites will combine 55 MW of solar generation with battery storage. Enexus has already installed more than 200 MW of LONGi solar modules in projects developed since 2025. The Titu programme represents the first battery order for Enexus with LONGi.
LONGi battery units and integration approach
LONGi will supply 10 utility-scale battery units for the Titu projects. The units will use liquid cooling and include integrated medium-voltage skids. The equipment is designed to simplify construction and reduce additional infrastructure needs at the project sites.
The liquid cooling system is intended to keep battery-cell temperatures more stable, supporting operating performance and reducing thermal stress. Integrating medium-voltage equipment is also expected to shorten installation and commissioning schedules.
Market role of storage with solar output
The batteries are intended to shift part of Enexus’s solar production from lower-priced daytime periods into higher-value hours. Depending on market access and the final operating configuration, the system may also provide balancing, frequency and other grid-support services.
Romania’s expansion of solar generation is increasing demand for flexible assets. High photovoltaic output can depress midday electricity prices, while evening demand continues to rely on thermal generation or imports. Hybrid projects can reduce curtailment exposure and create additional revenue streams, though their economics depend on connection terms, balancing-market rules and intraday price spreads.
