Bulgaria: 873,270 MWh traded on IBEX in December

A total of 873,270 MWh of electricity was traded on the day-ahead market of the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) in December 2019, which is 10.2 % more compared to the previous month. Average daily traded volume in December amounted to 28,170 MWh. The average baseload price on the day-ahead market in December amounted to 42.49 euros/MWh, which is 2.5 % higher compared to November (41.46 euros/MWh), while average peak price was 50.59 euros/MWh (+ 2.1 %). Weighted average price was 43.59 euros/MWh. There were a total of 76 registered participants on the IBEX day-ahead market, three more compared to the previous month.

Regarding intraday market, a total of 65,953 MWh (+ 85 %) was traded, with the average weighted price of 40.86 euros/MWh (+ 3.1 %).

At the same time, 1,192,735 MWh of electricity was delivered on the centralized market for bilateral contracts in December (8.6 % less compared to November), with the weighted average price of 49.14 euros/MWh (+ 2 %).
