The contract on the supply of equipment for hydropower plant Mokrice project was signed between Slovenian HESS, a part of GEN Group and local company Litostroj Power, owned by Czech Energo-Pro.
According to the agreement, Litostroj will deliver three horizontal Bulb units with a runner of 4.8 m in diameter as well as all the auxiliary systems. HPP Mokrice is the fifth and final plant within the middle-Sava project and Litostroj already supplied equipment for the previous four HPP projects: Bostanj, Arto-Blanca, Krsko and Brezice. Litostroj Power has 50 months to deliver and install all the necessary equipment.
HPP Mokrice project envisages that the new 28.05 MW HPP should have water inflow of 500 cubic meters per second and that its annual electricity generation should amount to 128 GWh. Estimated cost of the project is around 180 million euros. The construction was supposed to start by the end of 2019 and the plant should have been completed in mid-2022. However, in mid-2019, the project was delayed because the Slovenian Administrative Court cancelled the already issued environmental permit due to an appeal filed by the Slovenian Native Fish Society.
