Serbia: Public consultation for 350 MW hybrid project launched

Renewables developer CWP Europe plans to build a hybrid wind-solar park Vida in Serbia to add 350 MW of electricity production capacity in the district of Zajecar.

A detailed plan for the project was released by the city of Zajecar last week and the proposal will be open for initial public consultations until the end of July.

The Vida project calls for the installation of photovoltaic panels along with wind turbine generators. The complex will cover 3,870 hectares. The construction of a substation, a distribution switchgear and a battery energy storage system (BESS) are also part of the plan.

The project will be realised by a special-purpose vehicle called Vida Power.

CWP Europe is part of CWP Global, which has been active in Central and Eastern Europe since 2010. The company is working on an over 7-GW portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage projects in Southeast Europe in a joint venture with Mercury.
