Due to a fire, which broke out in the evening of 6 November, unit 3 of coal-fired thermal power plant Bitola has been shut down.
The broke out at one of the unit’s transformers and it was quickly extinguished. However, the unit was shutdown since the procedure in case of a fire is automated.
TPP Bitola, with its two operational units, covers about 70 % of electricity consumption in North Macedonia.
