96 MW wind project construction in Galați County
Helleniq Renewables is developing a 96 MW wind farm in Galați County, Romania. Construction is underway, with 8 out of 15 turbine foundations completed. The project will use turbines supplied by Vestas. Full commissioning is expected in 2027.
First Romanian solar assets commissioned in 2026
Earlier in 2026, Helleniq Energy commissioned its first operational assets in Romania. The company brought online two solar power plants located in Teleorman and Olt counties. The combined capacity of the solar facilities is 58 MW. These additions form part of the company’s broader renewable expansion plan in the country.
Additional projects under development and portfolio scale-up
Beyond the wind and the commissioned solar plants, further renewable projects totaling 153 MW are under development. These projects are expected to reach commercial operation during 2026. Romania has become a key expansion market for Helleniq Energy, with its local development portfolio exceeding 850 MW. The pipeline includes wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
