Albania: HPP Fierza rehabilitation

The three important cooperation agreements were jointly signed between Albanian Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku and German Ambassador to Tirana Peter Zingraf. The first agreement includes the rehabilitation of 500 MW hydropower plant Fierza, the largest HPP in the country, with the aim of increasing its electricity production capacity.

The financing of these projects will be based on loans with favorable conditions from the German Development Bank (KfW), which is one of Albania’s most important and reliable partners in the development of regional infrastructure. The combined financial package will amount to 124.9 million euros.
