Serbia: EPS launched tenders for the construction of two SHPPs

Serbian state-owned power utility EPS has launched tenders for the construction of two small hydropower plants (SHPP) on existing dams – SHPP Celije near Krusevac and SHPP Rovni near Valjevo.

The construction of these two SHPPs is part of the program for the reconstruction of small hydropower plants for which EPS received a 45 million euros loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in 2011. The funds should provide for the reconstruction of of 15 SHPPs with total capacity of 18 MW and for the construction seven new plants with total installed capacity of 13 MW.

According to tender documentation, besides the construction of the plants, the works also include the supply of electrical and mechanical equipment, including turbines, and their installation. It is expected that the contract will be signed in the third quarter of this year and all works have to be completed within 62 weeks from the date of the signing of the contract. The deadline for bids submission in 2 July 2018.

As part of the same program, last year EPS published a tender for the rehabilitation of seven small hydropower plants. The seven SHPPs in question are: HPP Raska, HPP Radaljska Banja, HPP Seljasnica, HPP Kratovska Reka, HPP Pod Gradom, HPP Turica and HPP Moravica. The works on each of these plants will include the dismantling of parts of the existing structures, performing earthworks, concrete, masonry and insulation works, metal works, façade, painting and drywall works as well as the installation of water supply and sewage systems.
