Serbia advances Mozgovo wind farm project with revised capacity and design

The Municipality of Aleksinac has initiated a public review process for the planning documentation of a new wind energy project located in the Mozgovo area. This development is spearheaded by WPP Forestwind and aims to establish a wind farm with a total installed capacity of 150 MW, utilizing 22 wind turbines.

This current proposal marks a notable adjustment from previous plans submitted last year, which envisioned a larger scale for the project. The capacity has been curtailed by 75 MW, and the number of turbines has been reduced significantly from 40 to 22 units. Such revisions reflect a strategic shift in project execution, potentially aimed at optimizing resource allocation and addressing regulatory considerations.

The designated area for the wind farm spans approximately 2,015 hectares, encompassing sections of the cadastral zones of Mozgovo and Bovan. This geographical scope indicates a substantial commitment to renewable energy infrastructure within the region, aligning with broader goals for sustainable energy development in Serbia.
