Regional market: Electricity generation and transmission system of Macedonia

The core function of the electrical and power system (EPS) of Macedonia is production, transmission and distribution of electricity.

The structure of the EPS of Macedonia comprises:

– Hydropower plants with total installed power of 580 MW,

– Lignite and heavy fuel oil fired thermal power plans with total installed power of 1010 MW

– Electricity transmission and distribution system.

The EPS of Macedonia is operated by four entities, namely: AD ?LEM
