Fifth Annual Conference on Energy

Prospects for Energy Business in the Region

April, 6th, 2011, Hyatt Regency Hotel Belgrade, Serbia

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our pleasure to inform you that Ekonom:east Media Group is organizing the Fifth Annual Conference on Energy: Prospects for Energy Business in the Region, which will be held on April 6th, 2011 at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia. Please find the preliminary program attached.

Following world and European trends, Serbia has declared 2011 the year of energy efficiency. The reconstruction of existing power plants and investments in smart grids projects for the distribution of electrical energy is essential. Strategic partners necessary for achieving these goals exist, however further improvement of legislation is required. The role of the state and new regulatory instruments must be defined. Using international projects and business opportunities as a model would aide, accelerate and improve the current situation in Serbia. Also, cooperation at the regional level is necessary in order be competitive with the European Union. Projects of the future are going to be related to alternative energy sources, reducing the administrative processes for their implementation as well as increasing their profitability in order to attract as many investors as possible.

The Fifth Annual Conference on Energy will bring together government officials, energy regulatory bodies, decision makers, chief executives of most prospective companies, the business elite from surrounding countries etc. with an interest and expertise in energy sector in the region.

The participation fee is EUR 300 + VAT.
