Moderator company which produced wood pellet and already operates woodchip fired biomass power plant, which supplies electricity to the national grid, has obtained a building permit for a solar power plant in Udbina.
The investment in the plant amounts to 1.25 million euros and part of produced electricity will be used to cover the company’s demand, while surplus electricity will be supplied to HEP’s network. The solar panels will cover an area of 28,500 square meters, with estimated annual electricity production of 10.29 MWh.
Director of Moderator Davor Zec stressed the importance of this investment, especially because solar electricity production is still in its infancy in Croatia, as well as heating on wood pellets, although the country has significant potential for both.
