Bulgaria: May electricity trade on IBEX

In May 2021, on the day-ahead market of the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX), a total of 1,876,388.7 MWh of electricity was traded, which is 10.1 % less compared to the previous month. Average daily traded volume in May amounted to 60,528.7 MWh. Traded volume in May 2021 was 99.5 % higher compared to the same month last year. The average baseload price on the day-ahead market in May amounted to 60.03 euros/MWh, which is 2.7 % lower compared to April (61.69 euros/MWh), while average peak price was 59.67 euros/MWh (- 3.4 %). There were a total of 85 registered participants on the IBEX day-ahead market, two more compared to the previous month. Regarding intraday market, a total of 137,317.2 MWh (+ 32.2 %) was traded, with the average weighted price of 57.63 euros/MWh (- 9.5 %).
