Bulgaria: Gradually increase of capacity of NPP Kozloduy

After it was temporarily decreased to 50 % when a boiler feed pump switched off on 25 May, Bulgarian sole nuclear power plant Kozloduy said that it started to gradually increase the output capacity of its 1,000 MW unit 6 to 100 %. The statement from the company said that the capacity increased has started in the evening of 25 May, after all necessary tests had been completed, confirming the reliability of the plant’s equipment.

One of unit 6’s two boiler feed pumps within its conventional part switched off at 11:30 AM on 25 May, triggering an automatic reduction in the output capacity of the unit. Kozloduy’s other 1,000 MW unit 5 is currently offline for planned annual maintenance.
