Bulgaria: CEZ, Energo-Pro and EVN will appeal the fine from Competition commission

Electric distribution company Energo-Pro does not accept the decision of the Competition Commission, alleging that the Company had abused a dominant market position, which is why it was fined with 37,000 EUR.

“The Company conducts activities for which it is licensed with quality and in a good will, in accordance with the Bulgarian legislation, and it did not violate the Law on Competition Protection. Prices that Energo-Pro has established at low voltage are formed on the basis of market and economic analysis of the real costs of time, labor and resources companies”, writes in Energo-Pro statement.

The Company will appeal the decision to the Supreme Administrative Court. CEZ also announced that it will appeal the decision.

EVN will use all viable means to protect the interests of their clients in court, and to encourage discussion on the adequacy of the legal framework, in the context of this case.
