A Balkan-based subsidiary of German renewable energy company wpd – wpd Adria – presented the proposals for projects for the construction of future wind farms to the prime minister of Herzeg-Bosnia County Ivan Vukadin. The project include wind farms Kruzi and Vaganj in the Livno municipality, with combined installed capacity of 810 MW, Glamoc wind farm in the Glamoc municipality with installed capacity of 138 MW and Marino Brdo wind farm in the Bosansko Grahovo municipality with installed capacity of 126 MW. In 2019, wpd Adria said that it is planning to invest 1.5 billion euros in the construction of wind farms with combined installed capacity of 1.2 GW in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
The company that it is in the process of obtaining permits for wind measuring points in the areas near Livno, Glamoc and Grahovo in BiH, while the permit for Knin area in Croatia has already been issued. Wpd is planning to build wind farms with total output of 900 MW in BiH and 300 MW in Croatia. The construction should start in three to four years and are expected to be completed by 2030. wpd Adria already operates four wind farms in Croatia: two near Sibenik, one on the Peljesac peninsula and one near Sestanovac, with a total capacity of 100 MW. It is also involved in the project for the construction of wind farm Brajici in Montenegro.
