Voltalia Karavasta solar generation in Albania stays at 132 GWh in H1 2026

Voltalia reported that its Karavasta solar output in Albania held steady at 132 GWh in the first half of 2026. The figure was broadly unchanged from the same period a year earlier. The plant is located in southwestern Albania and began producing electricity in December 2023.

Karavasta’s annual output is split between contracted offtake arrangements. Half of the output is sold to distribution operator OSHEE under a 15-year power purchase agreement. The remaining volume is contracted to private buyers under long-term arrangements.

The contracting framework combines demand linked to OSHEE with supply sold to private counterparties. This structure is designed to reduce reliance on short-term wholesale prices for the plant’s revenue profile. Voltalia’s reported first-half generation continues to reflect this operating setup.

Spitalle solar development licence and construction timeline

Voltalia is also developing the 100 MW Spitalle solar project in Albania. Construction was announced in 2024, and the project received a 30-year generation licence in late 2025. The licence extends the company’s position as utility-scale solar becomes an increasingly significant part of Albania’s generation mix.
