Vienna Energy Forta Naturala, a renewable energy firm affiliated with Austria’s Wien Energie Group, is advancing a significant solar initiative in central Romania’s Alba County. The company has formalized an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreement valued at approximately €25 million for the establishment of a 45 MW solar power plant located in the commune of Sancel.
The contractor selected for this project has not been publicly identified. However, funding for the solar facility is anticipated to be sourced from European Union initiatives, specifically through the EU’s Modernization Fund. This financing route underscores the project’s alignment with broader EU objectives aimed at enhancing renewable energy capacity across member states.
This solar development represents a key component of Vienna Energy Forta Naturala’s strategic expansion within Romania, which encompasses a varied array of renewable energy assets. In addition to solar power generation, the company is also looking to integrate battery energy storage systems into its operations.
