During his visit to thermal power plant Nikola Tesla (TENT) B, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the overhaul of unit B1 at the plant will be completed by 25 November.
The capital overhaul of unit B1, the first one since its commissioning over 40 years ago, started in May this year. The cost of the overhaul is around 90 million euros.
President Vucic said that, due to the downtime of 650 MW unit, Serbia had to import electricity, adding that a part of missing electricity was compensated by importing natural gas.
Currently, Serbia produces 68 % of its electricity from coal, which, according to President Vucic, has to be lowered in the coming period, mostly by building new electricity generation capacities from renewable sources.
