Romania: Polish oil refiner PKN Orlen interested in expanding on the Romanian market

PKN ORLEN is a Polish oil refiner and fuel retailer with major operations in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and the Baltic States as well as operations in Canada.

Officials of Polish oil refiner PKN Orlen met with the representatives of the Romanian Government and expressed their intentions to expand its business on the Romanian market. PKN Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek said that the difficult environment in which most companies are currently operating is not only a huge challenge, but also an opportunity that can spur further development. PKN Orlen is a serious business partner for European players, which means it must remain open to potential opportunities for further strengthening of its business.

The talks revolved mainly around PKN ORLEN’s strategy of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and challenges associated with the energy transition.
