After the company Nobel Oil entered the Romanian retail fuel market in December last year by opening its first petrol station in the town of Iasi in Eastern Romania, the company has recently opened its second petrol station in Constanta.
Nobel Oil Downstream Romania, a local subsidiary of the company which operates in Azeri and US markets, has been officially registered in Septem-ber 2014, and it has now entered its start-up phase. The company has recruited John Long, who has already helped other companies (Shell, Lukoil, Rompetrol) to enter Romanian market, in order to develop Noble Oil’s network of petrol sta-tions. Romania will be the first country where the company will enter the retail fuel market.
According to the company’s plans, it will open 70 to 80 petrol stations in Romania in the next five years.
There are about 2,000 petrol stations in Romania, of which some 600 are independent. Four biggest players in the Romanian retail fuel market are OMV Petrom, Lukoil, Rompetrol and MOL, transmits Serbia-energy.eu
