Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in March 2023 amounted to 647,897 MWh, which is 20% higher compared to the same month last year, according to the data from State Statistical Office.
50% of electricity (324,052 MWh) was produced at thermal power plants, 28% was produced at hydropower plants (179,438 MWh), 19% in CHP plants (124,673 MWh) and 2% (11,059 MWh) was produced by Bogdanci wind farm. Production at biogas power plants was 6,025 MWh, while solar power plants produced 2,650 MWh of electricity in March.
Total electricity consumption in March 2023 amounted to 629,636 MWh and natural gas consumption amounted to 34.56 million cubic meters. Coal consumption reached 446,502 tons, and the consumption of petroleum products stood at 104,814 tons.
100 % of the consumed electricity in March was covered by domestic production.
