Montenegro: Electricity prices to rise for households in 2025, REGAGEN announces tariff adjustments

The Regulatory Agency for Energy and Regulated Utilities (REGAGEN) has announced that electricity prices in 2025 will rise for all households with dual-tariff meters, which make up the majority of consumers in the country.

For households with single-tariff meters, the price increase will be 2.93%. Consumers with dual-tariff meters will face a slightly higher rise, with an increase of 4.51%. Those connected at lower voltage levels (0.4 kV) will see an increase of 2.46%, while consumers connected at 35 kV voltage levels will experience the smallest increase, at 0.62%.

The REGAGEN stated that for the most common customer category, the adjustment will result in an average increase of 1 euro per month on the electricity bill in 2025, compared to the 2024 bill, assuming suppliers maintain the same energy price as in 2024.

This price adjustment is part of the regulatory process aimed at aligning electricity tariffs with market conditions, though the agency did not specify the exact reasons behind the increase. The changes are expected to have a noticeable impact on household energy costs in the coming year.
