Macedonian electricity market, traders and large industrial consumers

Macedonian electricity market reform is still not completed, however the electricity market is shaped and functioning. Macedonia host 40 electricity traders, both domestic and international known actors. TSO level is a shareholder with state owned majority, power generation actors are state and private specially in the area of RES electricity, DSO is privatized and owned by Austrian partner.

Being a country with import requirement, in the same time electricity transit location for cross border, Macedonia managed to attract a large number of regional energy market participants. TSO capacities for cross border transfer are increased, yet some investment projects which were announced to be supported by international partners will surely increase the transit capacities.
