The average electricity price on Hungary’s day-ahead market (DAM) has shown a decline in December 2025, reaching €115.88/MWh, which is a 7% decrease from the previous month’s average baseload price of €124.35/MWh. The peak price during the same period also fell by 9%, settling at €129.3/MWh.
In terms of market activity, the total traded volume on the DAM for December amounted to 3.04 million MWh. This figure represents a significant 10% increase from November and a robust 21% rise when compared to December 2024, which recorded a volume of 2.51 million MWh. The average daily traded volume in December was noted at 98,085 MWh.
Conversely, the intraday market experienced a different trend, with total traded volume decreasing to 1,038,406 MWh, reflecting a 9% drop from the previous month. The average daily volume for this segment was recorded at 33,497 MWh. Additionally, the average price for hourly intraday products decreased by 8%, now standing at €118.08/MWh, indicating reduced trading activity and lower market prices compared to November.
