Hungary reached deal with Gazprom on 2019 gas deliveries

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjarto announced that, during the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, Hungary has reached an agreement with Russian gas company Gazprom on the volume and price of gas deliveries for 2019.

Minister Szijjarto added that negotiations were also started on gas deliveries for 2020, noting that Hungaryʼs long-term contract for gas deliveries from Russia runs until 2021.

In St. Petersburg, he also met with deputy-CEO of nuclear energy company Rosatom Kirill Komarov, who said that that the company would start the construction of two new units at nuclear power plant Paks in 2020 and that the units would go online in 2026 and 2027.
