Greece: Second guarantees of origin auction successful with similar price levels

The second Greek auction for Guarantees of Origin (GO) certificates took place on October 16, offering participants certificates for renewable energy generated in the first quarter of this year. All available GO certificates were successfully acquired by bidders, with price levels comparable to those in the first auction held in June, where the average price was 37 eurocents/MWh.

The previous auction had focused on GO certificates for wind and solar generation from the last quarter of 2023. DAPEEP, the operator of the renewable energy market, plans to conduct GO auctions monthly, depending on local market conditions.
