Bulgaria: Kozloduy nuclear power plant to begin annual maintenance on Unit 6

Bulgaria’s sole nuclear power plant, Kozloduy, will shut down its 1,000 MW Unit 6 on October 19 for scheduled annual maintenance, set to last until November 30.

During this downtime, the plant’s operator will conduct planned repairs and essential technical maintenance to ensure the unit’s operational safety. Additionally, the reactor will be reloaded with fresh nuclear fuel.

Meanwhile, Unit 5, also a 1,000 MW reactor, continues to operate according to the energy production schedule. It was reconnected to the grid in June after completing its own planned maintenance, which began in early May.
