The Bulgarian state gas supplier, Bulgargaz, has submitted a proposal for a marginal increase in the wholesale price of natural gas for March 2026. The proposed price is set at approximately 32.85 euros/MWh, reflecting a 1.7% increase from the February price of 32.3 euros/MWh, which had already seen a rise of 3.7% from January.
When analyzing historical pricing trends, it is noteworthy that the suggested price for March 2026 is significantly lower, by 36.35%, than the approved rate for March 2025, which was recorded at 44.79 euros/MWh. This decline indicates a shift in market dynamics and pricing strategies within the region.
The final determination of the natural gas price for March will be made by the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) on the first day of that month. This decision will follow an updated proposal from Bulgargaz that takes into account current market conditions and will be preceded by a public discussion scheduled for late February.
