Gross electricity production in the country amounted to 1,529 GWh in March, according to Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
In total gross electricity production hydropower plants participated with the share of 36.3 %, thermal power plants with 61.5 % and solar and wind power with 2.2 %.
Net production of hydropower plants amounted to 553 GWh in March 2020, which is 16.2 % more than in the same month in 2019. Thermal production amounted to 851 GWh, approximately the same as in March last year (846 GWh). Electricity production from renewable sources (wind and solar) reached 33 GWh.
Production of lignite in BiH amounted to 639,000 tons in March 2020, which is 21.7 % more compared to the same month last year, while the production of brown coal decreased by 2.3 % and amounted to 562,000 tons.
