On the morning of October 6, unit 6 of the coal-fired Sostanj thermal power plant was reconnected to the grid. The restart was prompted by falling temperatures and the increased need for heating in the Saleska Valley.
The unit had been offline since April for scheduled maintenance. In June, it operated for only two days to conduct measurements following the replacement of the generator rotor. Since that brief operation, the unit remained idle until its restart on Monday.
