Elektroprivreda Srbije said the first equipment for the 66 MW Kostolac wind farm, including three blades and two tower segments, has arrived at the construction site.
The remaining equipment is scheduled to arrive over the coming months, with all deliveries expected to be completed by the start of October. Installation work will start progressively, EPS said in a statement.
The goal is to build the Kostolac farm, which will be the first wind farm in EPS’s portfolio, by the end of 2024 and to connect it to the grid in early 2025, the statement read.
The project will comprise 20 Siemens-Gamesa wind turbines of 3.3 MW each.
The project is estimated at 144 million euros, with EPS financing 32.2 million euros of total from its own funds, the EU providing a 30 million euro grant and German development bank KfW extending an 80 million euro loan and a 1.8 million euro grant to support it.
The Kostolac wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to meet the needs of 30,000 households.
