Romania: Old Coal TPPs are biggest environment hazard warn from NGOs

According to a report released by Greenpeace Romania, five of eleven thermal power plants that are currently operational in Romania are on the list of top 30 European facilities with highest impact on human health.

The report states that the five countries which thermal power plants have caused the highest number of premature deaths across their borders are : Poland, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria and Great Britain.

The five Romanian TPPs that, according to study, had the highest impact on human health are: TPP Oradea 2, TPP Rovinari, TPP Drobeta, TPP Mintia and TPP Govora. The study shows that shutting down even one of these TPPs would substantially improve the health conditions of nearby population, as well as population in neighboring countries, transmits Serbia-energy.eu
