Romania, Average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the OPCOM amounted to 490.43 euros/MWh in August

The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 490.43 euros/MWh in August 2022, which is 335.18 % higher compared to the same month in 2021 and 33.56 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 367.19 euros/MWh.

Traded volume in August reached 2.22 million MWh, which is 20.46 % more than in August 2021 and 5.55 % less than in July 2022. Average traded volume in August 2022 amounted to 3,161.3 MWh/h.

The total value of transactions in August amounted to 1.1 billion euros, which is by 419.34 % more compared to August last year (211.8 million euros) and 24.9 % more than in the previous month (880.8 million euros).

The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in August 2022 amounted to 51.96 %.

A total of 101,755.4 MWh was traded on intraday market in August (4.93 % more than in August 2021, and 29.54 % more compared to July 2022), with an average price of 472.34 euros/MWh (329.62 % higher compared to August 2021 and 72.65 % higher compared to the previous month).

Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in August amounted to 1.602 million MWh, with an average price of 107.94 euros/MWh.
