Romania: Approval for program for solar panels and e-charging stations

In order to get the approval of the Electric-Up Program, with a budget of 200 million euros, Romanian Ministry of Economy and Energy proposed an emergency ordinance, said Ionel Danca from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

The program will provide support of up to 100,000 euros to small and medium enterprises (SME) that want to install solar panels or charging stations for electric vehicles.

Within the National Investment and Economic Recovery Plan, a program was included to support SMEs in terms of financing investments by these companies in renewable energy sources. The proposal is related to a financing scheme for investments made by SMEs for the purchase and installation of equipment for the production of electricity via solar panels, as well as for the purchase of charging stations for electric vehicles.

Danca also said that the Ministry has initiated a Government decision to cover the losses suffered by coal-based electricity producer Energy Complex (EC) Hunedoara during the floods in June. The aid will amount to 1.5 million euros and will be used to carry out the necessary works to remove the effects of these floods.
