Croatia: HEP – Krk LNG terminal long-term capacity lease extended

Interested parties may lease available capacities on a long-term basis until 15 June each year in accordance with the rules for the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal. After the company MET Croatia Energy Trade contracted the lease of additional gasification capacity back in March, Croatian state-owned power utility HEP did the same in June.

The available short-term capacity can be contracted throughout the year.

In December 2019, LNG Hrvatska received two binding offers for the lease of 520 million cubic meters of gas from the future LNG terminal from INA and HEP.

The Krk terminal’s commercial operation finally launched on 1 January with the docking of the tanker Tristar Ruby, which delivered 155 thousand cubic meters of liquefied gas for the Hungarian gas trading company MFGK, a member of the MVM Group.
