CCE Completes Sale of 293 MW Horia 2 Solar Project in Romania to Renalfa Solarpro Group

In a significant move within the renewable energy sector, CCE has finalized the sale of its Horia 2 solar project, boasting an installed capacity of 293 MW, to Bulgaria-based Renalfa Solarpro Group. This project, situated in Arad County, spans approximately 349 hectares and reflects CCE’s strategic divestment in favor of enhancing its operational focus. The transaction was facilitated by international law firm CMS, which provided essential legal support throughout the negotiation and execution phases.

CCE is recognized as an integrated developer and operator of solar and energy storage assets, with an extensive portfolio across Europe and Chile. The company’s development pipeline exceeds 7.2 GW, emphasizing its commitment to utility-scale renewable initiatives. Meanwhile, Renalfa Solarpro Group continues to solidify its presence in Central and Eastern Europe through targeted acquisitions of substantial renewable projects, thereby broadening its regional influence.

The closing of this transaction is contingent upon customary conditions precedent and is anticipated to occur in the first quarter of 2026. During this interim period, both CCE and Renalfa Solarpro Group will collaborate to meet established milestones aimed at ensuring seamless development and delivery of the project until it achieves commercial operation.

This transaction highlights sustained investor interest in large-scale renewable assets within the region. According to CMS, the Horia 2 deal exemplifies the growing maturity of the solar market in Eastern Europe and underscores the increasing importance of cross-border investments as a catalyst for accelerating renewable energy deployment across national boundaries.
