Bosnia and Herzegovina: Austrian Kelag to invest in RS energy sector

Minister of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska (RS) Petar Djokic has signed, on behalf of the Government, a cooperation agreement with the representatives of Austrian company Kelag and its Slovenian subsidiary Interenergo.
The agreement opens the possibility of investing in projects in the energy sector, especially in the field of hydropower, after conducting appropriate hydro potential studies. Kelag also expressed interest to invest in solar and wind projects.
Minister Djokic said that the Government supports the continued cooperation with these investors, given the years of experience in the field of renewable energy sources and the investments of these companies so far in the construction of energy facilities in the RS.

He recalled that Kelag, through its daughter companies, has already completed three energy projects in the RS: SHPPs Novakovici, Zapece and Medna, with combined values of some 42 million euros.
