Albania, A total of 7 TWh of electricity was produced in Albania in the first eight months of 2021

A total of 7 TWh of electricity was produced in Albania in the first eight months of 2021, 60 % of which was produced by state-owned Albanian Power Corporation (KESH).

According to a report published by the Albanian Energy Regulatory Agency (ERE), KESH produced a total of 4.27 TWh of electricity in the abovementioned period.

Electricity consumption in Albania in the first eight months amounted to 5.68 TWh, which means that net production was higher by some 1.3 TWh.

However, 2021 was one of the most unfavorable years for electricity distribution system operator OSHEE, which held several tenders for the purchase of electricity needed for covering local demand, and achieved prices were up to 195 euros/MWh.
