Slovenia, Unit 6 of TPP Sostanj back online

Thermal power plant Sostanj, operated by HSE, announced that its unit 6 has been successfully reconnected to the network on 3 January,
following the maintenance period which started on 24 December 2021.

During the downtime, electricity was provided by the plant’s unit 5 and its gas-fired units.

TPP Sostanj produced a total of 3,166 GWh of electricity in 2021, which is by 13 % lower compared to the previous year when electricity generation reached 3,640 GWh. At the same time, the plant produced 343 GWh of thermal energy, 20 GWh more than in 2020.
