Slovenia: Implementation of new network fee delayed

The Slovenian Energy Agency postponed the implementation of the network fee billing because the information systems of electricity suppliers are not adequately prepared. The initial date for introducing the new method of calculating the network fee was 1 March 2024.

The purpose of a new fee is the more efficient utilization of the existing electrical network.

The Energy Agency’s Council discussed the initiative of the Slovenian Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy and electricity suppliers to postpone the implementation of the new billing methodology at its last session.

Considering the additional activities of the electricity suppliers related to the regulation of electricity prices, and to avoid potential errors in issuing electricity bills because the information systems of the suppliers are not ready, the Council of the agency decided to postpone the start of the implementation of the new network fee calculation methodology for electricity operators to 1 July 2024.
