In September 2020, Slovenia’s net electricity generation increased by 36 % compared to the same month last year, according to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia.
In September 2020, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,395 GWh, which is 3 % more than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption reached 1,102 GWh, which is a 5 % increase compared to August 2020, and also 5 % higher compared to September 2019. In September, production in thermal power plants increased by 35 % compared to the same month in 2019, production in hydropower plants increased by 117 %, while production at nuclear power plant Krsko was 1 % higher. In September 2020, Slovenia imported 521 GWh (+ 26 % compared to September 2019) of electricity and exported 786 GWh (- 21 %). Supply of energy commodities in general went up in September, except from the supply of petrol which dropped by 7 % and lignite and brown coal by 2 %. Compared to the previous month, an increase in supply of heating oil (142 %) was recorded, as well as other petroleum products (32 %), coke (26 %), natural gas (15 %), hard coal (13 %), LPG (9 %) and diesel (6 %). Compared to September 2019, the supply of kerosene decreased by 77 %, heating oil by 60 %, LPG by 23 %, coke by 21 %, other petroleum products by 4 % and petrol by 3 %.
