According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in January 2022 decreased by 14 % compared to the same month last year.
In January 2022, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,232 GWh, which is 1 % less than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption was 1 % higher compared to December 2021 and 3 % higher compared to January 2021. In January, production in thermal power plants decreased by 5 % compared to the same month in 2021, production in hydropower plants decreased by 40 %, while NPP Krsko produced 1 % less electricity compared to the same month last year. In January 2022, Slovenia imported 814 GWh (4 % more compared to January 2020) of electricity and exported 682 GWh (- 23 %).
Supply of energy commodities in general went down in January, except from the supply of kerosene which rose by 90 %, coke by 49 % and hard coal 27 %. Compared to the previous month, a decrease in supply of other petroleum products (53 %) was recorded, as well as lignite and brown coal (26 %), LPG (12 %), diesel (10 %), petrol (2 %) and heating oil (2 %).
Compared to January 2021, the supply of kerosene increased by 233 %, other petroleum products by 178 %, petrol by 55 %, diesel by 20 %, heating oil by 12 % and coke by 6 %.
